LG G6: Hands-on video and first impressions of the stylish new flagship

Just ahead of this week's Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona, LG unveiled the G6, its latest flagship smartphone. The G6 is the successor to last year's G5, but ditches the modular design of its predecessor, which never gained the sales success that LG was hoping for.

The new G6 has an aluminum unibody, along with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 chipset, rather than the very latest Snapdragon 835, which is expected to launch on Samsung's Galaxy S8 next month. It also has 4GB of RAM, and dual rear cameras, similar to Huawei's new P10 flagship, which was announced just a few hours after the G6.

But perhaps the most notable feature of the G6 is its 5.7-inch display. Not only does the G6 have ultra-thin top and bottom bezels - which LG says makes the device equivalent in size to some handsets with 5.2-inch screens - but it also has an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio, with a wider (or taller) layout than most mobile displays.

In the video below, you can get a broader overview of the G6's key features, along with our early impressions of the device:
