Microsoft cuts 56% off this 23-inch Dell monitor with wireless charging base for your phone

Microsoft is offering a huge discount on a Dell monitor that includes a wireless charging pad in its base, along with the ability to "view and edit content from up to two devices simultaneously - and wirelessly".

The Microsoft Store's full list price for the Dell 23 Wireless Connect Monitor (S2317HWi) is $499, but the company has slashed $279.01 (56%) off its price, reducing it to $219.99. The 23-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD offers Full HD (1920x1080px) resolution at 60Hz, with 6ms response time, and 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles. It features dual 3W speakers too, as well as an HDMI 1.4 port and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

The charging pad, built into the monitor's base, is compatible with both the Qi and PMA wireless standards, and also includes an LED power indicator. But its wireless capabilities go beyond just charging your devices, as Microsoft explains:

Patience-testing cables aren’t required with this innovative display. Using Dual Screencast over WiFi Direct, your Windows laptop and Android smartphone or tablet wirelessly connect to the monitor, so you can see and edit both devices’ content right on the big screen—simultaneously.

The monitor supports Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, but the company recommends connecting it to a PC with a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor or newer, for the best performance. Android device owners wishing to use WiFi Direct and Miracast on the monitor must be running Android 5.0 Lollipop or newer.

There's no indication of when this deal will end at the Microsoft Store, but it's worth noting that at its current price, the monitor is considerably cheaper than on Amazon, where the retailer has listed it at $299.99, and even Amazon Marketplace sellers aren't offering it for much less than $270.
