Today, Kitty Hawk debuted its first all-electric aircraft with a video that's part cringe-worthy commercial and part test flight footage. While it isn't the fanciest rendition of an aircraft, the vehicle can be flown without a pilot's license, making it accessible to those that have the means to purchase it.
Kitty Hawk states on its website that the aircraft "is safe, tested and legal to operate in the United States in uncongested areas under the Ultralight category of FAA regulations". As you can see from the image above, the aircraft can operate over water. Sadly, this is the only terrain in which the vehicle can operate, as the firm's FAQ states that it is not designed to operate on land. The prototype was officially unveiled just this month and the production model will be available by the year's end.
For now, those interested can sign up on the firm's website and apply for a membership that will cost $100 and will include the following:

While we got to take a look at Kitty Hawk's offering, it is certainly less impressive than Lilium's electric aircraft which had its first successful test flight last week.
