Google's Pixel successor spotted running Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor

It has been a while since the release of Google's Pixel and Pixel XL. Although several months have passed, the handsets are still regarded as one of the better Android device options available, thanks to the speedy software updates and excellent camera. For quite some time now we have been hearing rumors about the Pixel's successor, but it appears that new information has surfaced in regards to its specifications.

Previously, the alleged codenames of the next Pixel devices were revealed as "Muskie" and "Walleye". These names have once again popped up in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code, but now are accompanied with CPU model number MSM8998, which corresponds to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor. Naturally, this specification might not be final, since there is still quite some time remaining from now until the official release.

Along with the expected improved processor, it is also possible that Google's next Pixels might have a look that is a bit more drastic. Earlier this month, it was reported that a curved display might be in its future, similar to Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. For now, we will have to take this information at face value, and wait for the arrival of the handsets, scheduled to take place later this year, as confirmed by Google's SVP of Hardware Rick Osterloh.
