Samsung announces pricing and availability for its new Gear 360 camera

Back in March, Samsung announced a new Gear 360 camera that records in True 4K, or 4096x2048, at a frame rate of 24fps. Saying only that it would be available later this spring, the company has now confirmed specific pricing and availability of the device.

It will go on sale tomorrow for $229, and you'll be able to purchase the Gear 360 from Best Buy, Amazon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and of course, Samsung. To use it, you'll need a Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Note5, S7, S7 edge, S7 active, S8, or S8+; however, Samsung touts better compatibility with iOS, as well as Windows, and Mac PCs.

There's also a special promotion for anyone that purchases a Galaxy S8 or S8+ between tomorrow and June 19. Those customers will be able to purchase a Gear 360 for $49, which is $180 off of the normal price. You can find out more about the promotion here.
