New updates arrive for OneNote Class Notebook add-in

It was only a few years ago when Microsoft launched Class Notebooks for OneNote. It was a tool that was meant to make the lives of educators easier by offering the ability to create lesson plans, share documents with students, and also offer digital environments where collaboration could occur.

Since that time, many teachers and students have utilized the feature, and Microsoft has continued to improve it, adding more tools like Class Notebook Add-in for OneNote. Today, Microsoft is rolling out a new update for Class Notebook Add-in that will bring new features like the integration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS) for Edsby.

The version 1.7.0 will include:

  • Assignment and grade integration with Edsby.
  • Schoology assignment and grade integration improvements.
  • Skooler assignment and grade improvements.

Along with some useful new tools, Microsoft has also added a dash of fun with its new sticker packs. The new Silly Supplies and Cacti Friends sticker packs can be used to add a bit of flair to your notes.

But, that's not all. There is also an update for the Learning Tools that will hopefully offer improved reading comprehension. The new OneNote Desktop Learning Tools add-in update will arrive as version 1.4.0 and feature:

  • Improved Syllables accuracy for English.
  • Added Syllables functionality for four new languages—French, German, Italian and Spanish.
  • Improved word detection and highlighting for Chinese and Japanese.
  • Transition to HelpShift for Support email.

The support for highlighting in Spanish, French, German, and Italian will arrive later in the summer.

Last but certainly not least, Office 365 subscribers using OneNote might find the new Researcher tool handy to streamline workflow and also increase productivity. The feature will allow users to perform research without leaving the application. The feature can also be found on Word.
