Vivaldi, one of the new kids on the block in the browser world, is frankly, a great browser. It’s pretty unique when it comes to features, and tries to continue the work that the guys at Opera were doing before they decided to go after a mainstream audience. That’s hardly surprising seeing as Jon Tetzchner, Vivaldi CEO, used to be the CEO at Opera. It is lacking one important feature though, sync.
Julien Picalausa from Vivaldi made a blog post about the upcoming feature, writing:
"You want Vivaldi to roll out Sync, right? Well, guess what – that day is drawing nearer. I’ve been working closely on Sync and thought I could give you a sneak peek into the action."
Once Vivaldi has sync added to it, it’ll be one of the last major browsers to have that functionality added; it'll join, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Safari, and Brave. Picalausa didn't divulge too much information about the functionality, but if it's like implementations in other web browsers, you should be able to sync bookmarks, passwords, browser settings, installed add-ons, browser history, and open tabs.
Picalausa also took the opportunity to announce that they will be streaming a live programming session of sync being implemented into the browser with an FAQ during the halfway break. The stream will take place on July 5th at 11:00 –16:00 UTC over on livestream.com, you can add the event to your online calendars so you don't forget.
