Android 7.0 Nougat rolls out to the LG V10 on T-Mobile

Earlier this year, LG confirmed that it would upgrade its V10 to Android 7.0 Nougat, but not until the second half of 2017. In fact, the manufacturer began rolling out the Nougat update in May - much earlier than it had previously indicated, but still nine months after Google originally released Android 7.0.

Two months after LG made the update available to the V10, T-Mobile is now rolling it out to the device in the United States. In addition to the various improvements that Nougat brings, the update includes a fix for an E911 timer issue, along with unspecified "Google software and stability fixes".

Oddly, T-Mobile's release notes don't list any new security patches for the V10 as part of this latest update. According to the carrier's list of updates, the device received its last set of security improvements in October 2016.

The LG V10 was superseded by the V20, which launched last year, and the new V30 is expected to launch at the upcoming IFA tech expo.
