Huawei Mate 9 and Honor 6X get permanent price discounts

The Huawei Mate 9 made its debut in the US in January, along with the Honor 6X. Now, it looks like both handsets have taken a permanent price cut that could make them a more attractive purchase.

According to the Amazon listing and a few other major online retail chains, it looks like the Mate 9 is going to be priced at $499 going forward, which is $100 off the retail launch price. If you dig the Space Gray option, you actually will be able to take advantage of a further discount, with it coming in at $487.99. As for the Honor 6X, you can get your hands on this device in any of the colors for a low price of $199.99, which is $50 less than its launch price.

While there typically isn't too much price fluctuation over the course of a year, 2017 has been an extreme exception with Samsung, LG, HTC, and now Huawei offering up major discounts on their newly released handsets. With such an intense discounting war going on at the moment, one can only wonder how Motorola will compete with its newly released Moto Z2 Force that retails for $720.
