Logitech introduces the Screen Share, a way to share content in meetings

Today, Logitech announced the Screen Share, a new dongle that's designed to allow users to more easily share content from their personal devices during meetings. It can often be a pain point for someone to share the screen from a personal device during a meeting, so that's the problem that the company is aiming to solve here.

It's basically an HDMI capture device, and the conference room computer will have a companion app on it. It's compatible with any meeting or conferencing service, including Zoom, BlueJean, Skype for Business, and WebEx.

"We’ve all been in meetings that inevitably slow down and waste time, because someone can’t easily share their presentation - which inspired us to make a solution for this everyday inconvenience," said Scott Wharton, vice president and general manager of Logitech Video Collaboration. "With Logitech Screen Share, there’s nothing new to learn and no software to install on your personal device. There’s no checking and rechecking the meeting ID or pairing code, or fumbling with input sources and remote controls. You don’t even need to be online. You just connect your laptop or mobile device to your conference room’s dedicated computer."

The device promises ultra-low latency HDMI, offering 1080p resolution at 30fps. The Logitech Screen Share is expected to be available in November, and it will be priced at $299.
