DxO plans to reveal camera attachment for Android

It was only a couple years ago when DxO debuted its detachable camera upgrade for iOS devices. The DxO One is an attachment that connects via a Lightning port and utilizes the iPhone or iPad as a screen but also runs the software that controls the device. Now, the firm is bringing a new attachment to market, one that will be compatible with Android devices.

While details are scarce, the firm has announced plans to do a full reveal in a couple weeks. But for now, we will have to be content knowing that it will support USB Type-C. As for price, it will most likely be comparable to the iOS variant which sits at $499. Yes, that is quite a bit of money to spend on an attachment that still relies on your phone. But if you're feeling ambitious, you can still use the DxO One on its own, but you'll have to rely on instinct since it doesn't have a dedicated viewfinder or display of its own.

DxO will announce all of the details of its upcoming device on November 2.
