ZTE's Axon M with dual displays makes its official debut

It was only last month when we first got word of ZTE's dual display smartphone that would be coming to market. Now, the time has finally arrived, as the firm has officially revealed the handset known as the Axon M.

Let's get into the meat of the handset by talking about its dual displays and how they function. Now, there are a few ways that you can use the dual screens found on the Axon M. The first is what the company is calling Dual Mode which allows the user to run two apps, one on each screen, for increased productivity and multi-tasking. The second is the Extended Mode where it combines the image on the dual display making it one large 6.75" "tablet-like" display. The next is Mirror Mode, which should generally be used when the device is in tent mode, giving you and another user each a screen to watch content on. As you might guess from the name, it duplicates whatever is on one screen to the other to create a mirror image. Lastly, is the Traditional Mode, where the phone is folded up and used as a standard smartphone with one screen.

As far as specifications go, the handset has:

  • Dual 5.2-inch 1080p display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage with microSD expansion
  • 20MP sensor for use as rear and front-facing camera
  • 3180mAh battery
  • USB Type-C
  • Android 7.1.2

As far as availability goes, the handset will be exclusive in the United States to AT&T and should be offered at $24.17 for 30 months. If you're curious and want more details, you can sign up on ZTE's product page for updates.
