goretsky Supervisor Posted October 19, 2017 Supervisor Share Posted October 19, 2017 Hello, I'm not sure when this was added to Windows, but I just noticed under the Fall Creator's Updates (aka Version 1709 aka Build 16299.15) that Shutdown (filename: shutdown.exe) now has a /fw switch. Here's what the built-in help (/?) says about it: /fw Combine with a shutdown option to cause the next boot to go to the firmware user interface. I tried it on several computers (some ThinkPads, several self-built systems with ASRock and ASUS motherboards, etc.) by running "shutdown /fw /r /t 10" from an elevated Command Prompt and it seemed to work correctly on all of them. Seems like a convenient option for computers where it's difficult to get into the UEFI (BIOS) firmware.
