Microsoft dev boasts one million active Launcher users, then deletes tweet

It was only a little more than a month ago that Microsoft rebranded its Arrow Launcher and made it available to Android users. Now, the Microsoft Launcher is boasting more than one million active users, but apparently, we aren't supposed to know that.

Microsoft Launcher designer Joshua Bradley tweeted the achievement a few days ago, also touting that the app was #1 on the Google Play store last week.

However, shortly after that, the above tweet disappeared. No word on why, although it is possible that Microsoft might have wanted the number to stay internal for now, or maybe go through official PR channels.

According to Google Play, the app has been downloaded more than five million times, with an average user rating of 4.6 from more than 327,000 users.

While one million may not seem like much when there are more than a billion Android users out there, it is definitely a step in the right direction for Microsoft, which has been trying to better integrate its services on mobile devices.

When the new app relaunched, it offered users the option of copying links and photos over to their PCs through the Continue on PC function. It also allowed for customization of wallpaper, theme and accent colors, icon packs, and gestures, as well as a personalized feed of at-a-glance items like news, calendar events, docs, and contacts.
