Up until late last year, the Humble Store was giving away various games for free on an almost weekly basis, and now, with its Winter Sale up and running, the store back with another giveaway. The game on offer this time is The Red Solstice, a squad-based tactical action title by the developer, Ironward.
The game takes place on Mars, where humans have begun terraforming the planet after Earth's demise. As we can expect from a sci-fi action game involving the red planet, something terrible has happened and everything wants to kill you.
For those looking for a solo experience, the game features a single-player campaign as well as a survival mode. But the game's main draw seems to be the cooperative portion, where up to eight players can join together to tackle randomized objectives. Keep in mind that the difficulty curve is supposedly very steep, so be prepared for a tough experience.
The Red Solstice currently features a Mostly Positive user rating on Steam, and would normally cost $19.99, but you can grab a copy of it right now via the Humble Store without spending a dime. The giveaway will be available for the next two days, with the game arriving as a Steam key. Be sure to redeem the key as soon as possible, since the redemption deadline is set for January 31.
