Microsoft is still working on releasing Windows 10 version 1803, the next big Windows update, and the first feature update planned for 2018.
Curiously, we still have no solid idea what it'll be called. Microsoft at some point was leaning towards calling the update the Windows 10 Spring Creators Update but seemingly dropped that name a short while ago.
A new hint indicates that Microsoft is leaning towards calling this update the Windows 10 April 2018 Update. If this sounds familiar, its because Microsoft first used a similar naming scheme with the Windows 10 November Update in 2015.
A Microsoft video by Twitter user WalkingCat was spotted today explicitly referencing the April 2018 nomenclature, indicating a stronger chance for this name than Spring Creators Update, which only ever appeared in obscure documentation.
Whatever the name turns out to be, the planned feature update has been beset by bugs and roll-out issues in the past month. The recent RTM version was dropped from release candidate status due to a blocking bug that caused PCs to more frequently go into BSODs. The firm has recently fixed the bug with a new release yesterday, pushing out an updated Windows build for Insiders. It will be likely be monitoring the situation closely while it makes the decision to launch, or not.
However, it is unclear if Microsoft will be able to push out 1803 before May at this pace. In the end, it seems that Windows 10 version 1803, which was scheduled to be released in April, might eventually be released in May.
