Microsoft finally gets in line, unveils its revised take on the pistol emoji

It looks like Microsoft is ready to embrace the Super Soaker, as it has now made it public that it will change its pistol emoji to something that looks much less threatening, according to a tweet from the company's Twitter account outlining the update.

It was only a day ago when we reported that Google could also be making adjustments to its pistol emoji in an upcoming version of Android. The two companies will follow other companies like Apple, Samsung, and Twitter itself, who over the years have also made the change to something less threatening and more playful.

While this will no doubt go a long way when it comes to its company image, it is uncertain as to when the firm will implement this change and when it will show up for end users of its operating systems and services.
