Fired IGN editor leaves more damage in his wake; additional plagiarism discovered

Source: Filip

Remember Filip Miucin? Sure you do, but just in case you might not have been following the news, he is the chap that was recently fired from his position at IGN for plagiarizing content for his Dead Cells review from Boomstick Gaming, a smaller and lesser-known YouTube channel. Over the weekend, he tried to apologize for his actions and the damage that it had caused, but it looks like that plagiarized video review was only the tip of the iceberg.

According to numerous folks chiming in across the internet, it looks like a lot of the content that was created by Miucin for IGN was plagiarized. After being contacted and also doing its own investigations, Dan Stapleton, who is the Executive Editor of Reviews for IGN, took to Twitter to announce that for the time being, it will take down a majority of the work created by Miucin.

Speaking with Kotaku, IGN detailed its plans, which include looking through all of the work created by Miucin, which was since October of last year, and seeing whether anything can be salvaged. The publication hopes to return to the games that he reviewed, that have now been removed, and get proper reviews up of the missing titles when possible. This incident doesn't reflect the work ethic of the team at IGN, but sadly, it will leave a deep scar that will need quite a bit of time to heal and be forgotten.
