Apple is releasing all new beta builds of its next major OS updates today, including the ninth developer beta for iOS 12, and the eighth betas for macOS Mojave, watchOS 5, and tvOS 12. The news comes a week after beta 7 was released, and five days after iOS 12 beta 8 was seeded.
At this point, most of the front-facing known issues are fixed, except for features that have been pulled like group FaceTime calling. Another issue that we've found on our own test devices is that if you installed iOS 12 beta 7 last week before it was pulled, you might have to sideload this update.
It's very likely that these are the last beta builds that we'll see for all of these updates. Typically, Apple releases about eight different builds for each update, although there was an extra for iOS since there were issues with beta 7 last week. Next, the firm will announce new iPhones in two or three weeks, and following the event, GM seeds will be made available. A couple of days before those iPhones are released, the updates will go out to the general public.
But of course, if you don't want to wait until then and you're not a developer, you can always join the public beta program. For those users, this build will likely be available later on today.
