Threads Or PMs

Recommended Posts

When I click the little button on the left side, it doesn't go to the newest post. I also get this in PMs. It will not go to the most current post.

Those little buttons...do you mean these:

I tried a couple of threads and I always get taken to the latest post that I haven't read. Which browser are you using? I tested it in Chrome and it seems to work. Are you running any script-blocking extensions?

Yeah, that.

Use Firefox Quantum 61.0.1

Not sure what's happening, but doesn't go to newest unread post.

Edit: Only plugins I use are LastPass and uBlock Orgin (disabled for this site)

Edit2: I never had this problem before, and I haven't updated FF yet.

no issues here on chrome.

have you tried other browsers to rule out FireFox?

it does appear to be a isolated issue on your end.

does the URL show the comment # in it or does it also just display the root url of the thread when you attempt to click the 'go to last unread' dot?

could be; idk about 61.0.1 but I've heard the 62 release is rather buggy

I haven't used firefox as my primary browser in several years myself so I can't say for certain.

could be a corrupt firefox profile as well. try launching firefox with 'Firefox.exe -p' in a run box to bring up the profile manager. create a new profile to see if the issue persists.

Oh yeah, now it works when I create a new profile.

I use Linux, but yeah, it is the same in terminal. "firefox -p"

Thanks, Brandon :)

no prob. back when I did use firefox I had some weird profile corruption in the past as well after upgrading since basically v3 on the same profile

corruption in the firefox profile can cause some of the strangest occurrences and not just with the UX

glad everything is working as expected now :)
