Razer is trying to get its Razer Phone 2 certified for use on Verizon

At the top of the month, Razer announced its new Razer Phone 2, complete with 120Hz display and customizable Chroma lighting on its rear. While it is meant to work on existing GSM networks, it looks like Razer is trying to get it certified for use on Verizon in the United States.

The firm tweeted earlier today that it is aware that the phone is not "enabled" for use on Verizon's network but pleaded with customers to "hang in there". Apparently, the phone must have the necessary bands to work properly on the U.S. network and it is just a matter of getting approval for use.

This move would open the handset up to more potential consumers. The Razer Phone 2 is not being sold by any wireless carriers at the moment and must be purchased from the firm's website or third-party retailers like the Microsoft Store. If you've been interested in the device, be sure to check out Rich Woods' hands-on of the unit to get a more in-depth look of the phone or head on over to the Razer web store to purchase it for $799.99.
