Microsoft introduces the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit for Business

Microsoft has announced the availability of the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit for Business, or SDT, a tool meant to restore the full functionality of the company's Surface devices. The tool is part of Microsoft's Surface Tools for IT.

The tool can be used as a desktop application or through a command line console, which can also be used to set up remote access so admins can diagnose and repair devices remotely through a command prompt. SDT includes a series of hardware and software tests, plus the ability to collect logs and generate reports based on testing. It can also instantly fix software issues, such as repairing system files.

The SDT can also be distributed through self-service install options for workers so that they can diagnose and repair problems on their own without the need for IT professionals to do anything. What's more, the tool can be customized and deployed using specific configurations, so that it only includes the tools that are necessary most often for specific kinds of workers.

To learn more about setting up the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit for Business, you can visit the respective page on Microsoft Docs. If you're ready to start, you can find the Surface IT Tools here, where the SDT is included.
