Games with Gold: Never Alone and Mercenaries are now free

Microsoft's Games with Gold program has delivered the final two free games of 2019 for Xbox Live Gold members. For Xbox One players arrives Never Alone while Xbox 360 owners get the chance to grab Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. As usual, the latter is also available to Xbox One owners thanks to the backward compatibility program.

Interestingly, Mercenaries also seems to be the first original Xbox game to be included in the Games with Gold initiative, and it probably won't be the last.

Never Alone (Xbox One)

Built in partnership with the Alaska Native community, Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) delves deeply into the traditional lore of the Iñupiat people of the Arctic to present a game experience like no other. Play as a young Iñupiat girl and an arctic fox as they set out to find the source of the eternal blizzard which threatens the survival of everything they have ever known.

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction (Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Anything goes in this Playground of Destruction. You are a lethal Mercenary. Your mission is to topple a sinister military regime by any means necessary. If it drives or flies, you can hijack it. If it shoots or explodes, you can use it as a weapon. You are free to go anywhere, destroy anything and blow the crap out of everything. In this playground of destruction, there are no limits, no barriers and no mercy.

One of the previous Xbox One Games with Gold titles of December, Q.U.B.E. 2, is still available to claim for anyone who missed out on it.

Don't forget that there are sales currently going on for Xbox Live Gold right now on the Microsoft Store as well, dropping the prices of 3 and 12-month subscriptions by up to 60%. The system works like this, claimed Xbox 360 games will remain playable even if the Gold subscription is discontinued, while claimed Xbox One games require an active subscription to keep playing.

Microsoft also has a hefty games line-up available for its Xbox Game Pass service this month, including hits such as Mortal Kombat X, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Ori and the Blind Forest, and much more.
