jnelsoninjax
I have a brother MFC-L 2680W laser printer attached via USB to my desktop. A few weeks ago I had an issue where it would not grab the paper from the cassette but would from the secondary feed slot. Now fast forward to the beginning of this week and it suddenly is grabbing the paper, but the pages are all blank. I just replaced the toner assuming that was the issue, but now with the new toner in, it still spits out blank pages. According to Brothers webpage I am using the current drivers. I am at a loss of what to try next, the printer is around 2 years old, and does not get very much use.
Brandon H Supervisor Posted January 18, 2019 Supervisor Share Posted January 18, 2019 have you tried factory reset on the printer? I don't have much experience with laser printers; can the toner clog like ink jet printers do sometimes?
seta-san
update the drivers on the computer and the firmware on the device. then do a factory reset on the device. https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcl2680w_us&os=10013 the firmware was just updated 11/22/2018 how to do factory reset: https://support.brother.com/g/s/id/htmldoc/mfc/cv_dcpl2520dw/use/manual/index.html#GUID-318A3024-2E7A-4BD8-9871-192A19D9C244_521 I guess it's also worth asking if your out of toner? There was no tape, just a protective plastic cover that I removed, I also followed the directions are far as cleaning the wire, and it still prints blank
Brandon H Supervisor Posted January 18, 2019 Supervisor Share Posted January 18, 2019 might just need to take it into a computer repair shop; most local shops tend to be willing to look a device over for no cost and will advise what the issue is (if physical) and provide an estimate if they can repair (at least that's been my experience with local shops in my area )
helpifIcan
If you do a test pint from the printer control panel like the setup page if that works them it is some issue with driver , or some other problem with the PC. If it still is blank then most likely a printer issue. +Warwagon 1 Share

Mindovermaster Moderator Posted January 19, 2019 Moderator Share Posted January 19, 2019 Just now, jnelsoninjax said: I did a test page, and it prints... so does that mean a driver issue? Yeah, that's a driver problem, try using the most current one or the older drivers.
