Apple lets Music users send a referral to their friends for a one-month free subscription

For those who are still reluctant to sign up for an Apple Music subscription, the Cupertino tech giant is offering a one-month free trial right now. However, the offer comes in the form of a referral link that can only be sent by an existing premium subscriber as a gift to a family member or friend who never had an Apple Music subscription.

Apple's latest promotion is a welcome development not only to those who are new to its music streaming service but also to those who may have signed up for it before but canceled after the trial period expired. That's because the new promo complements the current three-month trial that traditionally comes with Apple Music upon registration, bringing the entire free subscription period to four months.

That said, the promo doesn't seem to be available to everyone just yet. But since this is obviously part of Apple's push to get more people to subscribe to its music streaming service after reportedly edging out Spotify in the U.S., the new offering is likely to be going live for a wider set of users in the country soon.

The referral link is the latest in Apple's promotional effort for Music, with the company having partnered with Verizon last month to offer a few goodies to customers such as a free Music subscription for those have the carrier's Beyond Unlimited or Above Unlimited data plans.
