Razer Game Store set to close on February 28 ten months after launch

Gaming hardware giant Razer took the risk of launching its own game distribution platform in April 2018, but the service didn't really gain much traction among gamers. Now, the company has announced that the Razer Game Store will be shuttered on February 28 at 01:00 am Pacific Time.

Those who have purchased games via the game store will still be able to play those titles after the shutdown using their Steam or Uplay keys. It's important to note, though, that those keys won't be available from the store after February 28. Additionally, pre-ordered games will be delivered to customers even after the closure.

Beginning in March, customers can only purchase games from Razer through Razer Gold or redeem games using their Silver earnings, which will remain valid after the shutdown until the expiry date. However, discount vouchers obtained from the game store won't work by then, except for the Razer Exclusives vouchers.

When the platform went live globally last year, it offered gamers access to thousands of titles with rewards for every purchase. However, those games are available only through Steam or Uplay product keys since the store is not a direct portal like the longstanding Steam and the new entrant Epic Games Store.
