Late last month, the supposed Meizu Note 9 (M923Q) landed on China's telecommunications agency TENAA. Today, the Chinese electronics company has teased the upcoming announcement of the device on March 6.
Meizu took to Weibo to share a teaser image of the upcoming reveal for its next mid-range phone. As expected, the details are limited, but the recent TENAA certification indicates that the device will sport a 6.2-inch IPS LCD screen with a 1,080 x 2,244 resolution and a waterdrop notch. It is also believed to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 675 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
On the optics side, the phone will come with a dual camera setup on the back with a 48MP main lens plus a 5MP auxiliary sensor, though the latter's function isn't clear. Given its camera specs, the Meizu Note 9 is likely to compete with the Redmi Note 7 at least in this department, though Xiaomi's offering is powered by a less powerful Snapdragon 660 chipset. A 20MP camera sits on the front.
The Meizu Note 9 will also run Android 9.0 Pie with the company's own Flyme 7 OS on top and pack a 3,900mAh battery. Its availability details are expected to be known next month as well, but the phone is likely to hit the Chinese market first.
