Verizon's customers are in for a new offering from the company that will allow them to test certain gadgets contained in a mystery box and buy the ones that they like after the 14-day tryout period. The mystery box delivery service is part of the carrier's Tech Pack, which is available only to a limited number of customers who may have received an email from Verizon.
The mystery package contains a variety of gadgets, but what customers will receive depends on the kinds of things they like, which they'll have to tell Verizon upon signup. They won't be able to know what Verizon will be sending out until they get their hands on the delivery. The selection includes a Google Home Mini, Ryze Tello mini-drone, Belkin Road Rockstar, LG Tone Pro headset, Mophie battery pack, and a Canary camera, among other gadgets.
Verizon will then deliver the package containing three gadgets to the customer's doorstep. After two weeks, the company will charge customers for the tech products that they may choose to keep, with the package containing a prepaid shipping label for free return.
It's not immediately clear how much Verizon will charge for the whole Tech Pack, though the price for individual items doesn't differ from their current retail price. Signups for the service have already ended and it's not certain how often the company will run the program, but it's expected to open registrations again in the future.
