Microsoft announced this week that PC players would finally get to continue Master Chief's epic saga, with Halo: The Master Chief Collection confirmed to be coming to both the Microsoft Store and, surprisingly, Steam. And today, during the Halo Championship Series event, 343 Industries revealed that the Halo Insider Program is being extended to the PC platform.
The program has been used extensively on the Xbox One version of the games collection since last year to test and make improvements to upcoming updates using the community. But unlike the console version, PC players will get to jump in and test the games before the collection actually releases this time.
Sign-ups are already open and can be accessed by going to the official Halo website. There may be some hiccups on the page due to the sudden surge of interested players, however. Also, note that those who were part of the Xbox One Halo Insider program will need to sign-up again to be considered for the PC flights.
Although exact details are slim, it seems the program will take place across both Windows 10 and Steam, with Insiders who are selected being given entry to "early access play sessions with in-development Halo games."
Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC does not have a release date attached to it yet, but 343 Industries confirmed that the collection will roll out on the platform a single game at a time, starting with Halo: Reach.
