OPPO delivers new OTA update for Reno 10x Zoom; security, camera, and network improvements

One of the more critical and often overlooked areas of a smartphone is its software. Getting a steady stream of updates, whether it is to add new features or just to improve its security is a vital component when it comes to having a good and prolonged experience. While some manufacturers tend to dismiss delivering updates, OPPO has done a pretty good job so far with its Reno series of phones. A few weeks after the general retail release of the Reno 10x Zoom, OPPO has delivered an over-the-air (OTA) update for the phone, offering improvements to the camera, network functionality and security.

The new update, CPH1919EX_11_A.10, that comes in at 284MB, first and foremost delivers Android's June security update. Along with patching discovered bugs and known issues to the Android OS, it also offers the long-promised camera improvements. This not only includes camera "optimizations" but also brings an AI Night Mode that will apparently improve the photo effect under low light situations.

Furthermore, there seem to be enhancements to the phone's networking compatibilities, improving carrier compatibility. This update should be available immediately, but the rollout could be by region. If you haven't received it, be sure to manually check by heading to the "settings" menu, then navigating to the "software updates" section.
