Dell announces new Inspiron and Vostro PCs with Intel's 10th-gen CPUs

Inspiron 14 7000

Today, Dell announced a wide range of Inspiron and Vostro PCs as part of its IFA announcements. The new PCs include a whole bunch of laptops, convertibles, desktops, and all-in-ones.

Some of the new PCs were previously announced, but there are more details now. For example, the Inspiron 13, 15, and 17 7000 2-in-1 is already on the market (we reviewed one), but now you'll be able to get them with Intel's newly announced 10th-gen 'Comet Lake' CPUs. The Inspiron 24 5000 All-in-One and Inspiron 27 7000 All-in-One were previously announced as well, with the original announcement only saying that they have next-gen CPUs. Those chips can now be identified as 10th-gen U-series processors.

The Inspiron 13 7000 is certainly an interesting device, weighing in at 2.1 pounds and made with a magnesium alloy. And despite being so light, it still has a 10th-generation U-series CPU. This PC is coming to China on August 23, Japan on September 3, and Brazil on December 11. It's not coming to North America.

Inspiron 5000

There are also plenty of new entries from the Inspiron 5000 lineup, which is more mainstream than the 7000 series. These have stylish colorways like Platinum Silver, Iced Lilac, Iced Mint, and Iced Gold. The Inspiron 14 5000 is actually offered with 10nm Ice Lake processors, while the rest are still Comet Lake.

The Inspiron 5593 and 5493 will be available in China on September 3, Asia Pacific on October 1, EMEA on September 3, North America on October 1, and Latin Amerca on November 4, starting at $479.99 for the 14-inch model and $529.99 for the 15-inch version.

Rounding up the Inspiron refresh is 14-, 15-, and 17-inch flavors of the Inspiron 3000 lineup. Dell says that the 14- and 15-inch models offer stylish builds, while the 17-inch one is meant for around the home. They'll be available in China on August 23, Asia Pacific on October 1 and September 13 for Intel and AMD models, respectively, September 20 in Japan, August 15 and September 3 in EMEA for AMD and Intel, October 1 in North America, and November 4 and September 14 in Latin America for the Intel and AMD models. They start at $389.99, $599.99, and $699.99 for the 14-, 15-, and 17-inch models, respectively.

Vostro 5000

Next up, we have laptops from the Vostro 3000 and 5000 series, including 14- and 15-inch flavors of the former and 13-, 14-, and 15-inch versions of the latter. Naturally, the big change is that they all include Comet Lake processors, although interestingly, none of the PCs that Dell announced today aside from the XPS 13 use the high-end hexa-core one.

All of the Vostro laptops are available today, with the Vostro 3000 starting at $529 for either size. The Vostro 5000 starts at $849 for the 13-inch model, $799 for the 14-inch model, and $599 for the 15-inch model. And lastly, there's a Vostro Desktop 5090 - the only announcement from Dell today with ninth-gen chips - which will be available on September 24, starting at $699.
