O2 introduces new unlimited data consumer plans starting from £33 per month

O2 has announced that it’s launching unlimited data plans for consumers. It said that the offer will be available to customers that want to take out an 18-month SIM-only plan, costing £33 per month, or £35 per month on a 12-month contract. Customers can also select Limitless data on a range of devices including the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G, Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. Limitless data is also available as part of O2’s Family Plan.

While the company is selling several 5G phones with unlimited data, customers should be aware that the firm has not yet begun rolling out its 5G network and will not do so until October. The launch of limitless data coincides with a report carried out by O2 which found that running out of data was number nine on people's list of modern inconveniences.

Commenting on the new offers, Nina Bibby, Chief Marketing Officer, O2, said:

“We’re excited to be unveiling our Unlimited Data plans today. Now there’s no limit to what you can do on O2. As the customer champion, O2’s mobile plans have always been designed to put customers in control, and with the option of unlimited data on our award-winning network, we are now providing our customers with the ultimate choice.”

O2 said that customers on O2 Custom Plans will be able to upgrade to unlimited data plans from October 4. Those on Custom Plans can also upgrade early from another handset by paying off any remaining balance on their device plan. If you’re looking for a new phone, you can recycle some existing models through O2 Recycle which will give you a cash payment in return which can then be used towards the upgrade.
