Dragon Quest I, II, and III announced for Switch, coming to the west on September 27

The first three games in the classically loved Dragon Quest series will soon be available on the Nintendo Switch platform, as announced by Square Enix earlier today. Switch owners in Europe and North America will be able to purchase Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, and Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation when they release on the platform later this month on September 27, 2019.

Pre-orders are currently open for the Erdrick Trilogy - as the first three Dragon Quest titles are collectively called - on the Nintendo eShop. Unfortunately, the trio of games is only available in the form of digital releases in the western regions.

The three games were first announced for the Switch at the Japanese Nintendo Direct event by Square Enix Asia. The Asian release of the Dragon Quest games for the Nintendo Switch will include all three installments in one collective title. Luckily, the trilogy will be sold as a physical disc and will be playable in Traditional Chinese, Korean, and English. So western Switch owners interested in owning a hard copy of the game may order the Asian version, available for purchase here at $39.99.

As for the pricing details, Dragon Quest will cost $4.99, Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line will be priced at $6.49, and Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation will set buyers back $12.49. Pre-order details for the titles can be found here for Dragon Quest, here for Dragon Quest II, and here for Dragon Quest III.
