New trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield introduces more Gigantamax forms

We're less than a month away from the launch of Pokémon Sword and Shield for the Nintendo Switch, and today, The Pokémon Company released a new trailer for the upcoming games. The new trailer focuses on the previously-announced Gigantamax feature, this time highlighting a few new transformations.

As seen in the video above, there will be special transformations for creatures including Charizard, Butterfree, Pikachu, and Eevee. For the last two of those, you'll need to import game data from last year's Pokémon Let's Go games, with each version granting you the Gigantamax form for the respective Pokémon.

The trailer also reveals a bonus for those who buy the game in its early days, specifically before January 15 of next year. Those that get the game during this period will receive a special Meowth, which has its own - somewhat terrifying - Gigantamax transformation. Each Gigantamax form comes with a special attack that can be used during battle with added secondary effects.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are set to release on November 15, and the team has taken its time to reveal new information. During last month's Nintendo Direct, some new Pokémon and features were announced, and more recently the company revealed a pair of version exclusive creatures - Sirfetch'd for Pokémon Sword and a Galarian form of Ponyta for Pokémon Shield.
