Capcom announces Street Fighter V: Champion Edition

Capcom UK's community manager, Matthew Edwards, took to the PlayStation blog to announce the latest version of Street Fighter V - Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. Available exclusively for the PlayStation 4, the newly revealed Champion Edition will include almost all past in-game content from the original Street Fighter V as well as the previously released Arcade Edition for the title, adding up to 40 characters, 34 stages and over 200 costumes in total.

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is set to hit the stores on February 14, 2020, in both physical and digital forms and will be priced at $29.99. Pre-orders for the Champion Edition are now live. North American pre-purchases will be rewarded with a free theme - limited to digital purchases - and color options for playable characters' costumes.

Additionally, anyone who owns any previous version of Street Fighter V will be able to gain access to all content from the Champion Edition by purchasing an Upgrade Kit. Priced at $24.99, the Upgrade Kit will be available to purchase some time close to the game's release.

Along with announcing Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Capcom also unveiled the addition of Gill, the final boss from the Street Fighter III series, as a playable character scheduled to join Street Fighter V on February 14, 2020, as well.

While Gill will be available to Street Fighter V: Champion Edition owners free of cost, owners of other Street Fighter V versions will be able to purchase the character for $5.99 or for 100,000 Fight Money using the in-game currency. A comprehensive list of Gill's skills and character description can be found on Capcom's blog.

And finally, Capcom also revealed that it is going to roll out a new balance update and brand new V-Skills (V-Skill II) for every character in December, available entirely free of cost to current Street Fighter V players.
