OneDrive's March roadmap update includes Android features, File Card improvements, and more

Microsoft today published its monthly OneDrive Roadmap Roundup, where it outlines the new features coming to the cloud storage service. Included in the March 2020 roundup are conversations on the File Card, upload improvements on Windows, and new features for Android.

If you're unfamiliar with File Cards, it's a feature that was introduced a while back that allows you to hover over a file and see more information about it. Now, when you see a File Card for a file that's been shared via email, Teams, or something else, you'll be able to view the conversation.

Next up is smart upload management. On Windows 10, OneDrive can now upload data at speeds based on bandwidth availability. Using Low Extra Delay Background Transport in Windows, it's still meant to not clog up your network, which is presumably why OneDrive's upload speeds are always so slow.

On top of that, we have some new features on Android, such as dark mode, which is part of the Fluent Design update. You'll also find that PDFs and scans will automatically show up at the top of your "Recent View", which is how it already works on iOS.

That's all that's new for this month. Everything here is either available now in a fresh update or coming soon.
