Microsoft makes it easier to join remote meetings through Outlook on Android

The coronavirus pandemic has made work from home common around the world. At the same time, tech companies are coming up with innovative ways to keep everyone connected while maintaining social distancing.

This week, Microsoft started rolling out a new update to Outlook for Android to improve the user experience. The new update will offer deeper integration with meeting platforms such as Zoom, WebEx, BlueJeans, and GoToMeeting. Microsoft Outlook users will now see a join button on events from common online meeting providers making it easier to join remote meetings.

Here is the changelog of the update:

  • There are more remote meetings than ever, so we’re making them easier to join. You’ll now see a Join button on events from common online meeting providers such as Zoom, WebEx, BlueJeans, and GoToMeeting.

Microsoft Outlook has been one of the most popular productivity app available for Android users. Back in December, the app crossed 100 million installs on the Google Play Store. Microsoft is currently working on new features to improve the app including Outlook Spaces, a feature that promises to improve the project management experience for Outlook users. The latest update has started rolling out to the Android users and you can get it from the Google Play Store.
