As protests against police brutality and racism in the US continue, more and more companies are delaying launches, conferences, announcements and events in order to show solidarity. Big events such as the Guerrilla Collective, Cyberpunk 2077-centred Night City Wire, Sony's PlayStation 5 event and the Android 11 launch event have all been delayed.
Following suit, Electronic Arts has announced that it will be pushing back the upcoming digital rendition of its annual EA Play event.

As a result of the spread of the highly contagious novel coronavirus, EA decided to opt for a virtual event instead of the EA Play exhibition which takes place yearly. In May, EA Play Live was announced with a June 11 date assigned to the showcase.
Today's announcement from the gaming company alters the original kick-off date for the virtual show, pushing it back by a week. As per the notice provided by Electronic Arts, EA Play Live 2020 will now take place on June 18, 2020, at 4PM PDT.
Additionally, Geoff Keighly has announced that the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition will also be delayed by a week due to the same reason. Originally scheduled to run from on Steam from June 9 to June 14, 2020, the gaming showcase will now take place from June 16 through 22.
