  1. Past hour
  2. Microsoft, you complicated the default app settings! Forced updates and upgrades, deceiving upgrade prompts, strict hardware requirements, user settings over ridden with updates & upgrades, forcing Edge and Bing usage, removal of configuration settings/features, forcing Microsoft account usage (data collecting)...etc. So Microsoft, where is this choice or control?
  3. They should have the same kind of API for placing shortcuts on the desktop. I detest it when installers place shortcuts on my desktop without giving me the option to say "no". I know I can easily delete the shortcut afterward, but I shouldn't even have to.
  4. I was just saying to my friend that Edge needed some more features.
  5. Today
  6. There should be some basic standards because a most of monitors on the market today are just plain junk.
  7. Godot Engine arrives on Epic Games Store making it easier to download by Paul Hill The Godot Engine has arrived on the Epic Games Store (EGS) making it easier for users to download it and keep it up-to-date on their system. Godot is a lightweight tool that lets you begin developing 2D and 3D games using a variety of programming languages including GDScript, C++, and C#. The version of Godot in the EGS is the same open-source version available on other platforms. If you’d like to get a better idea of what Godot Engine is, check the video below that explains it in just 100 seconds: The Godot Engine is available to download on Android, Linux, macOS, Windows, and there’s even a Web Editor version. It’s also available for download on digital distribution platforms like Itch.io, Steam, and now the Epic Games Store. One drawback with downloading the tool from these digital distribution platforms is that they don’t include .NET/C# support – if you want that, you’ll need to download the software directly from the Godot website. In a statement on the Godot Engine launch in EGS, the team behind the project said: “We are excited to continue our friendship with Epic Games and to be published on the Epic Games Store. We believe this will bring new opportunities for growth and development for Godot and its community.” If you’re interested in trying out the Godot Engine, the best place to start would be the Godot Docs which will try to teach you how to develop games using the program. If you do decide to learn how to use it, just be patient as there’ll be a lot to learn!

Do you have an Android or an iPhone?

For what it's worth, SwiftKey helped me out a lot back in the day when I was on a Galaxy SII... and I've stuck with it to the Galaxy S7 Edge, then iPhone as well once it became available for it. Mileage may vary for everyone, but it's probably the one thing that made typing a lot easier is when the suggestions are based on what YOU say, rather than just suggesting spellings to something irrelevant to you. Mileage may vary of course, but there's no way you'd catch me using the default keyboard on either iOS or Android platforms. It's almost like preferences are a thing. Usually when I'd see people complain about iOS, it was because they didn't know how to live without a back button. Or people who'd complain about Android being "complicated", by people who didn't like the idea that it... wasn't an iPhone! This is why back when I worked retail, we never really bothered people about platform, unless they were actually trying to switch. People will stick with what they know.

Do you have an Android or an iPhone?

and I would argue the same in reverse. I find iOS the most restrictive, uncoordinated, difficult thing to use that ive ever encountered.
  10. Developers make apps look beautiful. Relying on frameworks to do it for you is the sign of a bad developer.
  11. So, he (or is He?) can post on his YouTube channel. There is nothing forcing any one to visit that channel. We can only hope that most people have realized what an outlier he is, and ignore the channel.
  12. Why have an extension system if they just bundle everything into the browser.
  13. It does! I wouldn't be surprised if its a stock asset and they changed the color so as to not conflict. Are you referring to DevToys icon? Historically DevToys icon was heavily inspired from Windows Terminal. This icon is likely heavily inspired from Windows Terminal icon too.
  14. Holy hell. These guys invest money into projects with a seemingly "who gives a ###### attitude" yet they don't want to finish paying off their employees....
  15. I think Trump wanted to ban Tik Tok all together not just on government devices. just checked definitely wanted the sale for US, he obviously knew something.

Yes. I was getting pretty hot indeed. It's a SSK SHE-C325 casing. == I reinstalled Windows 11 on the new SSD. All going well. Will reinstall all software & games later this weekend. Thx for all the help & comments!
  21. This basically effects every chromium browser that is not named Chrome.exe or Edge.exe (Brave, Vivaldi,Opera...etc). Nasty move, AMD.

  24. Wine 8.4 released with initial native support for Wayland by Paul Hill If you’ve ever tried to get a Windows program running on Linux, there’s a good chance you’ve come across Wine. This compatibility layer allows you to run, with varying degrees of success, Windows programs in Linux. Now, the developers have done initial work on the Wayland graphics driver so that it’s closer to working properly under the newer Wayland display server that is trying to replace X11. This early-stage work on the Wayland driver was contributed by Alexandros Frantzis, here are the release notes pertaining to these improvements: winewayland.drv: Add initial driver stub. winewayland.drv: Add initial unixlib stub. winewayland.drv: Perform basic per-process Wayland initialization. win32u: Allow drivers to set the null user driver. winewayland.drv: Report basic monitor information. winewayland.drv: Report all advertised monitor modes to Wine. As you can probably tell from reading the above information, the Wayland driver is not ready for end users to take advantage of just yet but it shows that the developers are now working to introduce native Wayland support. Aside from initial work on Wayland, Wine 8.4 delivers clean-ups in IME support, a number of test fixes, and various bug fixes. You can find binary packages for your distribution on the Wine download page. Source: WineHQ via Phoronix
  25. Don't they ever learn. They can't bundle/integrate crap like this, in an effort to lock out the competition.
  26. Well, in their defense, that's just temporary, the underlying issue wasn't fixed, and hardcoding file names to apply a fix isn't a great coding practice, IMO.
