  2. There is of course also an iPadOS 17.5 beta, but journos seem to have a morbid fear of mentioning that not-the-same-as-iOS OS.
  3. Thanks. Will try again... Ordered:-) Thanks for posting.
  4. CFT originally had 4 crew members. One was a Boeing engineer who dropped out, with a persistent rumor that it was a spousal veto after the first disastrous test flight. Since then the crew has been trimmed from 3 to 2, and I think that's 2 too many. I'm absolutely in favor of another test flight. Unfortunately, there aren't enough Atlas V vehicles. They are all spoken for, and building more is out because of its Russian RD-180 engine. Vulcan is also not fully qualified, and an adapter for Falcon 9 would take too long to qualify. Starliner is snake-bit. If there were a loss of crew on this mission Boeing would be in a world of hurt, their already tattered reputation being further soiled by 2 more graves. Commercial Crew 3 will include new entrants, including Dream Chaser 200 which is getting a new airframe. The cargo version should be flying this year. Blue Origin is also talking about CC3, but I'm not taking them very seriously until New Glenn flies. They are still having trouble with BE-4 engine deliveries. If Starliner manages to fly its 6 operational missions without killing or scaring the bejesus out of anyone, I think they will walk away from CC3. They may quit sooner if Starliner has more problems. India should be flying a crew vehicle within a few years, so they could be an interesting addition. Some important tests coming up.
  5. KB5037941: Microsoft quietly releases Windows 11 build 26100.2 for Windows 11 24H2 PCs by Sayan Sen The 2024 update for Windows 11, version 24H2, is expected to be unveiled later this year. According to reports, the RTM (release to manufacturing) is going to happen this month itself, and the timing seems to align with another recent development wherein Microsoft released a Windows Insider build for HLK (Hardware Lab Kit) which essentially helps test and verify hardware compatibility. The recent developments have led to speculation that the latest Canary and Dev channel Insider build 26100.1 belongs to the RTM branch. However, the build has quite a few issues, even outside those acknowledged by Microsoft. The tech giant has currently released a new build 26100.2 under KB5037941, which appears to be an OEM build. Since it is for the OEM branch Microsoft has not released a separate changelog for it. OEM builds like these are meant to be pre-installed on OEM PCs, the likes of vendors like Dell, HP, Asus, Lenovo, among others. This build is based on the previous build, 26100.1, and hence the bugs and issues may likely persist with this too. This build is different from a servicing pipeline build wherein Microsoft tests the Insider servicing channels before pushing some major updates through. Also, if you don't have build 26100.1 installed, you are unlikely to receive this. If you want to have a go at it, it is available on the UUP dump website. But again, this isn't really something you need or we recommend. Recently Microsoft and AMD announced new Windows 11 AI PCs for enterprise and they will be powered by Ryzen 8000 PRO CPUs and Pluton security chips. AMD says these are arriving in Q2 and Computex 2024 in early June is where we expect to find these. Via: Xeno (X / Twitter), Deskmodder
  6. This is not a question of whether ppl can already do this, but whether these things should be publicaly available on social media. This is not just about celebrities, but everyday ppl too, since this technology is also being used for revenge porn deepfakes. If you don't know who cares, I can tell you those victims certainly do...
  7. get the 5900X. should be a nice upgrade from your 3800X. unless you are gaming at 1080p or below, or are a competitive gamer, the 5900X should be more than sufficient. it's not really that far behind the 5800x3d in gaming and is much better in everything multi-threaded. https://benchmarks.ul.com/hard.../AMD+Ryzen+7+5800X3D/review https://www.cpubenchmark.net/c...800X-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-5800X3D

  10. Today
  11. Debating if I should go 5800x3d I have a decent board for one and currently on a 3800x. I could use more ram also on 16gb atm. So options are a 32gb ram kit and a 5800x3d (probably on used market) vs just buying a new board, ram, cpu. Holding out to the next nvidia gpu generation to see if whatever the 5070 or 5070ti puts out is bottlenecked by a 5800x3d. I could sell old system and buy new one or just upgrade and try sell parts in this one (selling parts is harder I feel than a whole system) can probably flip the system as it is for all the parts to build a new generation one (minus gpu I am getting anyway).
  12. With the Israel contracts Google actually is fully in line with its progressive stance by helping decolonizing from today's islamist supremacism that can't stand the reality of having nine million unbelievers as their neighbors. As a saying common in Lebanon goes 'first we come for the Saturday people then we come for the Sunday people'. Helping Israel in expanding its security is postcolonialism at work.
  13. You know, with the release of their accessibility controller, which is great, why not release something specific to games like WoW or other RTS types that need the extra buttons you get with a KB? Sure you can add KB+mouse support but for those who want to play these types of games on a console, or hell, on a PC in the living room, I think a good RTS type custom controller would sell well. It'd be like all the custom hardware being sold right now for those into fighters or those into flight sims and racing sims.
  14. Well, with how things are going, maybe with AMDs 8000 series Radeon cards they'll be able to match nVidias 30 series cards when it comes to RT performance. They're always 1 or 2 gens behind nVidia with RT and their upres tech. Hell, even Intel with it's first gen GPUs has better RT performance than AMDs current crop of GPUs can do. Now that Intel has it's drivers in a very good place, it makes for some interesting future options.
  15. The 5000s CPUs seem to be up for sales more and more right now, not so much their newer 7000s, guess AMD has a good chunk of left overs.
  16. Israel has the right to defend itself. Cry hard if you want, But Google is on the right side. If they don't like it, they should quick and not disrupt other people. I am glad they got arrested. These are the kind of people that made their AI to erase white men.
  17. There is nothing idiotic in sarcasm. They got fired, and rightly so. Israel has the right to defend itself.

    VirtualBox 7.0.16

Do not install this version if you are a Winbows user! They have made a complete hash of the network driver and you are most likely to get a BSOD in the host machine the minute a VM tries to use the network adapter. I have installed 7.0.16 on three machines and it BSODs on all three. Two are Windows 10 machine and one is a Windows 11 machine. Wait a while until they acknowledge the issue and resolve it, especially if you have important VM's.
  19. Atop a new platform, what also makes me less intrigued to upgrade are the power requirements. Those AM5 / Intel CPU's are more power-hungry than I want to have to cool! Word brother, my electricity bill in the UK is insane with 5950x and 3090ti for work often maxing out for long periods of time. Started moving to the Macbook to work remotely in the summer from the heat too, just slightly more convenient when I don't have to do that though.

  21. I think if you tried really hard you could write even more idiotic comment than this one.
  22. Maybe I misunderstood the article. There were references to disinformation/misinformation content but nothing about phishing/malware. I understood the same from the article, that's why I was saying that menu item is not meant to be used for reporting disinfo.
  23. Ready or Not developer Void Interactive had the source code for its game stolen by hackers by John Callaham An indie game developer who released a realistic PC first-person tactical shooter on Steam that centers on SWAT teams has found itself the victim of a criminal data breach. Void Interactive has confirmed that hackers managed to steal at least some of the source code for its game, Ready or Not. The data breach also reportedly involved the theft of builds for future Xbox and PlayStation versions for the game. The data breach was first reported by Insider Gaming, who claims that the source code and console build thefts actually happened back in March, but was just revealed on Wednesday. The report says the theft was undertaken by a ransom group, which Insider Gaming has not identified. The story says the breach resulted in 4TB of stolen data. Void Interactive has since sent an official statement to Kotaku, confirming the data breach. The developer blamed the theft on what it called “critical vulnerabilities” that were allegedly found in the cloud services of TeamCity. The statement added that the breach did result in the theft of "some source code as well as directory information" for Ready or Not, along with "screenshots of top-level project and company-related information". Void Interactive stated that its "development assets and proprietary code remain secure and intact" and that no user data was taken. Ready or Not first launched in early access in 2021, and reached its 1.0 status just a few months ago in December 2023. Before this week's reveal of the data breach, Void Interactive had plans to release two post-1.0 DLC packs for the game. One was scheduled for release in the spring of 2024 with the title of Home Invasion, and the other was due in the summer of 2024 but did not have a title yet. It's currently unknown if this data breach will delay Void Interactive's roadmap plans.
  24. That is the kind of idiotic comment we all would expect from you. Thanks for never disappointing. 👍
  25. I have a feeling with these chips being end of the line, a lot of people will be sticking with these for quite a few years now due to the platform change requirement to upgrade further. Especially for these prices, my 5950x was £550 when I got it.
