  2. Not really, it's the removal of a duplication of a feature as you don't actually need it. You need a MS account to use an Xbox and if you got a MS account you got a OneDrive account. Why do you need separate storage for your Xbox? it should have just uploaded to OneDrive by default. Also it's just for game media, cloud saves are stored elsewhere. Also Steam does not give you 100Gb per game, where did you even get that from? it's like ~2Gb per game and can't be increased.

What should I do with this free PC?

Hello, From looking at the specs at https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/134586/intel-core-i5-12400-processor-18m-cache-up-to-4-40-ghz.html, it is a 6-core/12-thread CPU, so I think it will handle new games decently at mid-level performance, and older games above that. That said, video cards make a huge difference here as well. Adding a decent video card when you are able to do so should improve game performance, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

    LibreWolf 125.0.2-1

LibreWolf 125.0.2-1 by Razvan Serea LibreWolf is an independent “fork” of Firefox, with the primary goals of privacy security and user freedom. It is the community run successor to LibreFox. LibreWolf is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements. This is achieved through our privacy and security oriented settings and patches. LibreWolf also aims to remove all the telemetry, data collection and annoyances, as well as disabling anti-freedom features like DRM. LibreWolf features: Latest Firefox — LibreWolf is compiled directly from the latest build of Firefox Stable. You will have the the latest features, and security updates. Independent Build — LibreWolf uses a build independent of Firefox and has its own settings, profile folder and installation path. As a result, it can be installed alongside Firefox or any other browser. No phoning home — Embedded server links and other calling home functions are removed. In other words, minimal background connections by default. User settings updates Extensions firewall: limit internet access for extensions. Multi-platform (Windows/Linux/Mac/and soon Android) Community-Driven Dark theme (classic and advanced) LibreWolf privacy features: Delete cookies and website data on close. Include only privacy respecting search engines like DuckDuckGo and Searx. Include uBlockOrigin with custom default filter lists, and Tracking Protection in strict mode, to block trackers and ads. Strip tracking elements from URLs, both natively and through uBO. Enable dFPI, also known as Total Cookie Protection. Enable RFP which is part of the Tor Uplift project. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution, and its goal is to make users look the same and cover as many metrics as possible, in an effort to block fingerprinting techniques. Always display user language as en-US to websites, in order to protect the language used in the browser and in the OS. Disable WebGL, as it is a strong fingerprinting vector. Prevent access to the location services of the OS, and use Mozilla's location API instead of Google's API. Limit ICE candidates generation to a single interface when sharing video or audio during a videoconference. Force DNS and WebRTC inside the proxy, when one is being used. Trim cross-origin referrers, so that they don't include the full URI. Disable link prefetching and speculative connections. Disable disk cache and clear temporary files on close. Disable form autofill. Disable search and form history...and more. Notes: To receive automatic updates, you may refer to the unofficial LibreWolf-WinUpdater that employs a scheduled task to accomplish the same. Alternatively, if your aim is solely to receive notifications upon new version releases, the unofficial LibreWolf Updater extension is a suitable option. 11. Latest Reddit mobile app update will get you into the comments section even quicker by Paul Hill Reddit has updated its Android and iOS apps to help users get a better commenting experience. The update includes instant comment loading, keeping the post context accessible while reading comments, and consistent conversation navigation across post types. The first enhancement you’ll see in this update is the speed with which comments load. If the user clicks the comments button of a post on the homepage, they will be taken directly to the top of the comments making it easier to get into the discussion. Next up is the ability to keep the post context in view while reading the comments thanks to a collapsible bar at the top of the discussion. This bar will be shown if you go to the post page and scroll down to the comments. Tapping on the bar will enlarge the post for a closer look. Finally, Reddit now has consistent conversations no matter the post type. In the new update, you will experience a new unified media player, immersive transitions, and consistent gestures. To get to the conversations, just swipe up, to reach new content, just swipe left. Reddit said that it had been working with Redditors to test out these changes to find out what works and what doesn’t. By working with the community to introduce new changes, it could mean that there is less push back from users after changes are deployed. If you cast your mind back to the start of the 2010’s Digg, a spiritual predecessor to Reddit, introduced a major overhaul of its website which really damaged its reputation and led to a user exodus. This is why Reddit has to be careful about introducing changes and ensure they’re popular with the community first. Reddit has also announced this week that in the coming years it plans to invest in advertising and organic shopping solutions opening up more opportunities for ecommerce brands. Ads in its platform could help it increase revenues and make it more attractive to investors now that its stocks are public. Source: Reddit

  13. Have you been living under a rock for the past few years? Biden struck down all the border security laws on the day he entered office and he's been purposely importing them in the millions every year. It's gotten so out of control that he's now loading them onto planes in Mexico, flying them over the border, and released them into the US. The House has been repeatedly trying to pass new laws to stop the madness, but the Senate continuously shoots it down. There's no way you didn't know this has been happening... https://homeland.house.gov/202...ary-mayorkas-border-crisis/ https://www.statista.com/chart...hended-at-us-mexico-border/
  14. Get the Western Digital 8TB WD Red Plus NAS hard drive for an all new low price of $159.99 by John Callaham More people are buying NAS internal hard drives because they want to store their digital videos in their home media server setup. Western Digital offers up a number of NAS-based hard drives, and right now, one of them with 8TB of storage just hit a new all-time low price. At the moment, the Western Digital 8TB WD Red Plus NAS internal hard drive is discounted to $159.99. This is not only a new all-time low price for this hard drive, but it's also $30 off its current $189.99 MSRP. This drive supports a workload rate of 180TB annually. It also has a 256MB cache and it also uses conventional magnetic recording (CMR) technology. That means you can put this hard drive in your NAS server bay and use it constantly. Indeed, this drive has been tested for use specifically with 8-bay NAS systems. You can purchase multiple drives and put them in your 8-bay NAS rig and have tons of storage for 4K videos, images, or other files, Western Digital says the WD Red Plus hard drives are supposed to use less energy and run cooler compared to older WD NAS drives. 16. Nvidia to buy GPU orchestration software provider Run:ai by Paul Hill Nvidia has entered into a definitive agreement to buy the Kubernetes-based workload management and orchestration software provider Run:ai. According to Nvidia, AI deployments are becoming more complex with workloads being distributed across cloud, edge, and on-premises data centre infrastructure which Run:ai’s solutions solve. Commenting on the decision to buy Run:ai, its CEO and cofounder, said: “Run:ai has been a close collaborator with NVIDIA since 2020 and we share a passion for helping our customers make the most of their infrastructure. We’re thrilled to join NVIDIA and look forward to continuing our journey together.” Explaining the benefits customers can get from Run:ai’s platform, NVIDIA listed: A centralised interface to manage shared compute infrastructure, enabling easier and faster access for complex AI workloads. Functionality to add users, curate them under teams, provide access to cluster resources, control over quotas, priorities and pools, and monitor and report on resource use. The ability to pool GPUs and share computing power — from fractions of GPUs to multiple GPUs or multiple nodes of GPUs running on different clusters — for separate tasks. Efficient GPU cluster resource utilisation, enabling customers to gain more from their compute investments. For any customers that use Run:ai's platform, Nvidia said it will continue to offer the same products under the same business model in the immediate future. It will also continue to invest in the Run:ai’s product roadmap but integrate these features in Nvidia DGX Cloud. From this acquisition, Nvidia hopes that customers will be able to benefit from better GPU utilisation, improved management of GPU infrastructure, and greater flexibility from the open architecture. Neither Nvidia nor Run:ai gave any details about the acquisition such as how much the company is being purchased for or when the acquisition should be complete. The move should help NVIDIA strengthen its position as a leader in AI infrastructure. Source: Nvdia

  18. ChromeOS can now be used to open and edit Microsoft 365 files directly on Chromebooks by John Callaham In January 2023, Google announced that it was working on a new feature for ChromeOS. It would allow Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to be edited directly in the OS via the Chromebook's Files app. At the time, Google said this feature would roll out later in 2023. 2023 came and went without this promised addition to Chromebooks. Today, over a year after it was first announced, Google said this feature is now rolling out on ChromeOS. Today's blog post reveals how this new functionality will work: When you get access, you can just open an Office file then choose to open it in the Microsoft 365 app when prompted. From there you’ll be guided through a one-time setup experience to install the app and connect Microsoft OneDrive to the Chromebook Files app. That’s it! We’ll remember your preference and you’ll have quick and easy access to your files. You can try it today (if you haven’t already) – just search for and enable the “#upload-office-to-cloud” flag. This could be a huge improvement for Chromebook users who may have wanted to use Microsoft 365 apps but previously had to launch the Chrome web browser to access those apps. Integrating them more directly in ChromeOS could lead to more use of those apps versus the previous method. The blog post says that Google has just started rolling out this feature so if you use a Chromebook and don't see this integration, you might have to wait up to a few weeks longer to get it on your device. Oddly enough, another third-party company, Dropbox, just announced today it would add some more direct Microsoft 365 integration features as well. Specifically, it can now support real-time co-authoring inside Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps while the files themselves are stored on Dropbox cloud storage accounts.
  19. The money spent on Ukraine is to prevent Russia from annexing whatever nation it wants, which is in the interest of Americans. Also, please show us how Biden is spending money on illegal immigrants. In addition, the US House (currently under the control of Republicans) must approve spending, so if there is any money being spent on illegal immigrants (which there isn't) would need to be passed by them.
  20. I'd just update from the UEFI screens personally. Even then ASUS often has problems reading the file unless it's in specific locations, which is wonky when it's the same file either way.
