Because it will be abused, doesn't mean we shouldn't invent the capabilities. Seriously, if you look at countless inventions we've done over the years, if the concern of it being abused was enough to prevent it from being invented, we wouldn't be at the level of advancement we are today. In the end, we'll adapt.

I feel it is still limited to the most stupid people that already get scammed. It's really no different than reading a news article online or getting a fake spam email from your bank. You need to properly confirm/fact check any information you receive so nothing has really changed. There are already people that will believe anything a real life "influencer" says no AI needed. For now, but it will get better in time to the point where it's very difficult to tell the difference from a human or A.I. but like always, we'll adapt.

We abuse almost every tech we invent, but we also always adapt. In the case of A.I. the use case is very broad but eventually we'll adapt to it. I also find it amusing where movies show A.I. taking over and wiping us out, all they really wanted was our jobs lol.

We'll adapt. Also, unless you're ringing the wrong number, it's unlikely you're going to be talking to an A.I. unless the other person wants that to happen, but if we are talking about random talks online, then yeah that could be difficult to figure out who is human or A.I.
