CactusZac098
I like my 60GB backwards compatible PS3 just fine. That thing looks cheap anyways.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted August 18, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted August 18, 2009 Better pictures Also the guy who said no OtherOS support told the truth, want Linux, buy a fatty Since the new PS3 mainly concentrated on entertainment, it is the "Other OS feature, however, no longer to be found. So you can on the new PS3 no longer install Linux.

Tech Star
I want to buy the original PS3 because all my PS's that I have bought were the original ones before the slim. The thing is though, I want the cooler (heat wise) system with less power used. :/
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted August 18, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 18, 2009 The only good thing about it is the new logo. The rest of it is frickin' awful. Definitely a low point in Sony's design history.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted August 18, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted August 18, 2009 It says Bravia Sync is a feature of the PS3 Slim... is that hardware or software? Please god be software, because if it's hardware I won't get it (unless I buy a slim). I assume with Bravia Sync I'd have no need for my PS3 Bluetooth remote any more which would mean just one remote for me! :D No need to buy overpriced harmony remotes/overpriced harmony dongle for PS3. My current remote does TV/Sound system, I just have the issue of needing the PS3 Bluetooth remote for XMB navigation.
Nightz
Think I'll be picking one up and using the phatty in the living room as a Blu-ray player.
StevoJD
The only good thing about it is the new logo. The rest of it is frickin' awful. Definitely a low point in Sony's design history. The original PS3 is VERY wide, and to make it wider is just /facepalm. I'd probably like it if I saw it in real life though.
FlibbyFlobby
Now I've seen all those pictures of it I think it looks good. It's a little weird being slightly square but the matte finish and the front look slick. :)

+John. Subscriber¹ Posted August 18, 2009 Subscriber¹ Share Posted August 18, 2009 Why not work towards this with the first revision? The PS3 is kinda chunky. That aside, it's a step in the right direction. I think I'd have prefered a scaled down version of the standard PS3.

Guest
lol, funny coz its so badly done :D The PS3 slim looks weird. The proportions just dont look right. I like the design front so i guess if its stuck on the shelf under the TV it wouldn't look so bad.

NienorGT
Slimmer, but more deep... They removed the nice touch button for ugly buttons :/ And what? 250W? The current XBox PSU is 150W :|
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted August 18, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted August 18, 2009 Slimmer, but more deep...They removed the nice touch button for ugly buttons :/ And what? 250W? The current XBox PSU is 150W :| 250w max, not 250w constant. The PS3 has always been more power hungry than a 360. Blu Ray drive and the chipset for HD audio decoding probably ramp it up, along with whatever CELL uses. I'm not sure what my PS3 is currently using, but the Slim is a reported 36% lower usage I think.
