  2. Microsoft is testing Gmail integration in Outlook on the web

It's actually called Outlook.com or Outlook on the web etc. I don't see the confusion really. Wouldn't the same thing apply to something like twitter or facebook or something with a web version and a actual client? Yeah, because end-users are smart enough to know these differences or provide this type of information... /insert eye roll emoji

ITunes app is the reason I shitcanned iPhone around 10 years ago. It's the worst app ever written. The amount of lost music, album art, and 1.5 gig patches was enough to say good bye forever.

  10. Apple announces new green campus in Austin, Texas

While I applaud Apple for this plan, lets not kid ourselves. Building that facility (machinery, concrete, steel, interior materials etc.) is going to create far more carbon and waste then they will ever recoup with their green initiatives so while the plan is good intentioned, it's negative contributions to the environment are still overwhelming. I'd actually have preferred to hear they were using 60% recycled building products over 60% green space. Think about it, the location is already essentially 100% green space (its just land) so they are converting 100% green space into 60% and creating a lot of waste doing it.

  11. Please admit you only keep informing people that you play modern AAA games using drivers from 2.5 years ago on a 10-year-old OS to wind people up. Windows 10 + the 44x.xx drivers will be better than Windows 7 + 378.78 in every modern AAA game on a GTX 1080 Ti. Grow up and stop being an old-fashioned, stubborn boy.

  14. As far as I see it.. It's a win win. Apple needs Windows to expand its Services to a large audience and Microsoft needs Apple to better support is Your Phone app I can see them splitting it all into store apps for Music/TV/iDevice backups etc and whatever other services they have which would be nice.

IDK, I have been using teams for about a year and really have no complaints other that users are dumb. They don't know how to turn off microphones/mute them so they don't get echo....hello mcfly, if you are using your computer audio and a speaker phone it is going to echo.

  19. My Take on Video drivers is as long as video card is supported by the newer drivers, then I update immediately soon as new ones are released, for bug fixes, security fixes, and in general stability on Windows 10 Pro x64 Windows 7 I myself left in the dust soon as Windows 8.0 came out, and immediately upgraded to Windows 10 soon as released back in 2015 Everyone I know has different ideas, and takes on matters, but I feel my systems are a lot more secure with fully up to date system than not

Naming their web-based email service "Outlook" is such a HORRIBLE idea. If someone tells you "I use outlook for my email" .. .if you have to ask, The Email Client Outlook or you have an outlook.com email address?" you know you have a horrible name.

This game works excellent on 378.78 (GTA V Optimized) drivers for Nvidia 1080 ti under Windows 7 where people experience crashing under DX12. Between good game play and crashing I choose having fun, no brainer. I am not here to discuss what's better, I just said what works for me. And I am not sure why you people are obsessed with the latest and greatest. I still game on Windows 7 and do work on it, and make money doing that work and I am not any less efficient in doing so than someone on Windows 10, and I do not get annoyed by bloatware.

Nothing beats Apple Podcasts. They have their strengths too And yet, Spotify isn't a podcast service... So your claim is moot. Didn't you notice that they have made a section in the app for Podcasts? And the library in the iOS app (I assume it's the same for Android) is now split in two main headings, Music and Podcasts? Spotify is obviously expanding into the podcast market too now, so claiming they are not a podcast service is just plain wrong.

  28. Computer does not boot

Problem got solved (not sure how I can close this topic) The fan turning off wasn't really a problem after all. new mobo had trouble finding my screen. Moving my gpu to the pciex16 instead of the 4 solved this issue. My mobo read that one standard and couldn't find the other, at least not easily. Fair warning though for the B450 tomahawk, I would not recommend using 3th gen amd processors with them. If you have to upgrade both mobo and cpu definitely go for a X570 at least. All my problems started with that mobo, it might work fine in the beginning but problems with the cpu are likely enough to occur. thanks for the help people.

  35. Microsoft Teams now has 20 million daily active users

Those numbers must be skewed a bit. I know every time I've hosted a meeting and shared my desktop and this pile of ###### software has crashed, I've tried it at least 3 times before giving up, times that by the the number of other users getting the same issue and it suddenly seems like a grossly inflated number. It's 2019 and if you start your computer without an internet connection then join one later it just cannot cope with that and will either be completely white and unusable or have a 'restart teams' button... Why does an app need to fully restart when internet is enabled? Absolute garbage.

  41. Huawei granted 3-month license to conduct business in the US

Look, not to beat a dead horse (you know, that pesky idea that you need actual evidence if you want to make that type of accusation) but this 90 extension does nothing to allow them to conduct 'spying' in the U.S. The ban doesn't lift the sale of phones or 5G equipment (which was never really available here anyway). What it DOES allow is for U.S. companies the opportunity to continue to sell products and licensing to Huawei. So just how does THAT equate to spying in the U.S.?

I don't find that increasing the number of screens or their size increases my fun or productivity to be honest. Phones still have touch keyboards so unless something comes along to revolutionize input on smaller displays, I see them as gimmicks.

In a previous thread you mentioned illegal sources for your TV viewing. I will suggest that many of these sources are poorly run, offer very little infrastructure for their service and would venture that maybe using legit streaming services will serve you better.

  49. Watchmen [TV series: HBO]

Who cares about spoilers, I'd argue that a couple of days after the episode has aired you should be entering these topics at your own risk. And we're discussing a 30 year old comic. Anyway, Rorschach is uncompromising alright, but he's anything but a hero. He's basically what Moore felt like what real-world Batman would look like - a complete nutjob that's incompatible with the world. And a complete nutjob with an uncompromising hardon for justice (or what he perceives as justice) is exactly the type of person who would attract extremist groups. Again, I fail to see anything inconsistent about it. Also, your idea that the original Watchmen was about how even the best of us can fail, errm, what? Watchmen was basically a criticism of the entire idea of superheroes existing in the real world. By the end of the comic, all of the actions done by the heroes have meant absolutely nothing, and it showed how useless they were. The one action that had long-reaching positive effects, was the result of the most heinous moral act in the comic, which was Veidt's plan. And in that world of such moral ambiguity, Rorschach was a relic and there was literally no place for him, which is why he got evaporated. It's basically Moore giving a middle finger to the idea of a "good" superhero existing in general, be it Rorschach, Batman, Superman, or whoever. It's him laughing at how obsolete superheroes in general are. The TV show is taking some of these elements, and running with them, but I really do think that there's more than the surface level stuff. They've taken the metaphorical black and white idea of morality, and turned it into literal blacks and whites in the show, and you can already see that there is more behind that. Will doesn't seem like a completely positive character, so I don't think that the idea of good guys vs bad will perfectly align with racists vs non-racists. It's still beyond hilarious to me how review-bombed the show got because a bunch of people got offended by the show daring to set itself up on this premise, especially when the original comic was pretty heavily political as well.
