AMD's 7nm Radeon VII GPU is selling for just $499
Skyfrog and one other reacted to ThaCrip for a topic
While I am sure it's nice on some level, $499 is just too much for a GPU as I tend to see general graphics cards to be worth NO MORE THAN $300-ish MAX. although I would feel more comfortable in the $200-ish or less range which probably gives one the best all around performance for $ spent I suspect.2 points -

Gaming is all that matters. Let's be honest. That depends on person, but to be honest the amount of people who use it for productivity (which includes rendering & ML and GPU accelerated stuff) are far greater than gamers (Considering gamers getting divided in consoles and mobiles and all sorts of things). For me I enjoy gaming but also would like to be able to get the best when comes to productivity, if the price difference is less than 200$ I would put my money on all rounder witch also wins in gaming1 point -

NO CUDA, can't do fast renders on blender nor can be used for most of the ML libraries, all these problems renders it useless (pun intended). (Blender supports OpenCL but is not nearly as fast as CUDA based acceleration, and RTX also helps with real time cycles rendering with RTX Ray Tracing on Blender support)1 point -

Apple Maps and Weather apps now show Crimea as part of Russia, if you're in Russia
Matthew S. reacted to adrynalyne for a topic
No it was not legal. Crimea has been part of Russia for centuries. Stalin merged it with the Ukraine during the Soviet era. Crimeans never wanted to be Ukrainian. They voted to go back home. Just because it ###### off the Europeans doesn't mean it was illegal. Couple of Ukrainians I met told me "we are Russian, we speak Russian. I am not sure why we are called Ukrainians". Ahahahaha! their not Ukrainians then NO Ukrainian in their right mind would EVER call themselves Russian. Also there were more Pro-Ukrainians that weren't allowed to vote than Pro-Russians that voted, it was strong-armed. You know that Ukraine existed for 18 years to date, right? Are you ######ing high? Ukraine has existed far longer than 18 years. Obviously you are, independence in 1991 subtracted from 2019 gives you 18. Math wasn’t a strong subject eh?1 point -

Reflecting on Windows 10 and querying the app gap?
exotoxic reacted to DevTech for a topic
You seem be immersed in some abstract internal war rather than the reality of the moment. You can force Windows to do whatever you want it to do and you can give windows mind-boggling powerful hardware as well, none of which is under your control for mobile. Get a powerful Desktop PC, turn off sleep mode and keep Facebook (ugh) and Twitter running - Instant response as in ZERO time to display that obviously beats the mobile device. You can even plug in a second monitor and a third etc and have a Wall Street-like scrolling display on one monitor showing your constant real-time Facebook/Instagram/Twitter etc status (oh groan) - hey throw in a bunch of Youtube videos playing constantly on a fourth monitor... If you want a sceensaver or even sleep mode for whatever reason, just hit the check box to turn off login when you wake it up. Buy a LGA3647 dual CPU mobo each with a Xeon 40 core CPU and 6-way RAM along with a NVIDIA TITAN RTX GPU and then wait about 1,000 years for mobile to catch up. Oh and don't forget there are still some PC's in dusty old corners that haven't upgraded to a NVMe boot drive with 3,000 MB/sec read speed. Even without a powerful PC that makes a huge difference. Never forget that Android runs on hardware and that state of the art 8 core hardware is more powerful than many corporate Drone-Level-Worker PCs PCs run on hardware too and Windows can't be better than the hardware you give it. Comparing a state of the art mobile CPU to some ancient PC CPU is not fair and makes no sense and all this should be obvious so I will stop typing now. Used properly and maintained properly and configured properly, a PC is a Mind Enhancer, while a mobile device is typically a depressing little Mind Drainer...1 point -
