  1. Did he download the git repo? Basically, you should be able to unzip it, open a terminal in the folder and then git checkout -b desiredbranchname Then just modify the instructions after the git clone to the current directory structure if needed. I can give you exact instructions later if needed, just give me the branch name.

  2. Court rules in favour of Elon Musk in “pedo guy” defamation case

Alternatively, so does backpedaling. Might've gone differently had he not removed the tweets and apologized. Amazing that stuff we're supposed to learn as kids still works even into adulthood!

  3. Bill Gates talked about how Microsoft failed the smartphone market, and the reason is that he was distracted by the antitrust case. It is the reason why Microsoft is doing this kind of move, such as forced updates that nobody wants, and nobody asked for. Microsoft is CLUELESS. For example, I have a test machine with windows server 2016. * I tried disabling the antivirus = nope, I wasn't able. The options are there, but they are useless; you mark the option, and it returns automatically as "activated! I am Microsoft, and I can spy all your files!". * I installed a program, and the search feature was unable to find it. C'mon. Finally, I installed classic shell, and it worked. * While the automatic updates are not active (we are talking about Windows Server!, sheesh!), the screen of updates will show regardless!. and we are unable to disable it (without hacking the registry).

  4. I don't understand the mentality of people that play that game, I constantly hear my neighbour playing it from the annoying noises through the wall. I looked it up and there's over 3000 levels of the same repetitive crap, I couldn't read 1 page in a book 5 times let alone 3000 times but people actually play through 3000 levels of the exact same thing? Astounding world really isn't it

I've moved my gaming PC and Laptop to 1909, going good, I think anyone on 1809 or older should upgrade.

  8. Users on Windows 10 version 1809 are starting to be moved to 1909

Along with not having all the candy crush cortana crapware installed this is another reason to run LTSC. The 1809 release is supported until 2024, no forced updates or upgrades.

  12. Hands on with the reborn Motorola razr

No way. There are minimal benefits of this phone. $1500 is basically for nostalgia. I can't see how the Razr can cost $1500 when it doesn't really offer any true usability advantage over current phones. The screen isn't any bigger than what we have with the current phones. Heck, my Galaxy S10+ has a bigger screen. The screen quality isn't up to my S10+. It doesn't have a top-of-the-line SoC. It's not thinner than the latest smartphones. It won't have the usability of other folding phones (while open, it's behaves like my S10+). the battery is only 2500 mAh. Flipping it open will be novel for maybe the first 100 times you do it. After that, it's just a regular phone that you have to flip open. Motorola is depending on nostalgia and the media is slurping that up. I loved my Razr back in the day because it offered a lot of advantages over competitors and was very stylish. But I don't see that with this one.

  14. Not very helpful. That said, not necessarily. Once Deepin decided to use and distribute it, it became their decision on whether or not to include it.

  19. Hands on with the reborn Motorola razr

All of these first wave of folding screen devices are going to be pricey, no way around it for now. Maybe 2nd gen 2020 models or into 2021 we'll see more reasonable pricing which would help these take over in the market.

  22. Users on Windows 10 version 1809 are starting to be moved to 1909

security and improved stability; plus new/improved features are usually nice, but mostly the first 2 things. The first two stated reason are very debatable, at best, with Windows-10. Its multi-year history is wretched. Windows-10 needs several more months of solid history before those reasons have any chance of being true.

  25. Group Policy stops the Windows Defender or whatever they're calling it now, along with automatic updates. You can set it to check automatically, but not download without you presssing the download button. Automatic restarts are also disabled from there. Search is problematic, sure, but the new enhanced version in 1903 (or is it 1909, idk) fixed it for me at least. There hasn't been something that it hasn't found, be it programs, files or settings menus.

Same logic, why did you bother with 10 in the first place? Why upgrade from XP? why continue to use XP when there's Win7 which works well (and maybe better than XP)

  34. Dead Rabbit

So I woke up My dog is laying on the back patio covered in dirt with a rabbit in his mouth. The rabbit's not bloody, just dirty. My neighbor's kids raise blue ribbon rabbits. I instantly knew it was one of theirs. So I took the rabbit away from my dog, rushed inside, and washed all the dirt off it before my neighbors could come home. It was stiff but I heard some animals play dead when they are afraid but I couldn't remember which ones. I took it and placed it back in one of the cages in their back yard then I ZOOMED back home. Not 30 minutes later I hear my neighbors screaming so I go out and ask them what's wrong? They tell me their rabbit died three days ago and they buried it but now it's back in the cage. 😳

  35. this is true for software and patches. I would have thought they'd be a little better on the driver side of things though. I guess not. Debian is one of my least familiar linux distros personally. I generally mess with Fedora, Xubuntu, or Arch based distros

  36. That was the purpose of buying a cheap 11.6 laptop... Deepin 15 offer better performance than Windows 10. He tried keep windows 10 but is too much BS installed in there that don't need or ask for, while in linux you can install what you need and no need to worry about any extra stuff that always come with Windows 10.

  38. Here you go. I am not sure how much of that is just speculation, but it seems reasonable to me. Apple's new modem acquisition would not have enough time to make its own chip, so they are going to be forced to buy from Qualcomm anyway, they may as well by a 5G chip. https://www.macrumors.com/2019...on-5g-capable-iphones-2020/

  40. Looks like @gborn's post was removed so I'll post an answer. It seems you can install security rollups for Windows Server 2008 on Windows Vista, but due to lack of SHA-2 support only older updates work. However, installing the KB4493730 update brings support for SHA-2, allowing me to install the latest security rollup. Thanks for the security lesson guys
