Microsoft will start giving Windows 7 users full-screen upgrade prompts for Windows 10
LunarShadow and 2 others reacted to TsarNikky for a topic
Which KB has this dubious full-screen nag, so I don't install it. Memo to MS: Don't pi** off your Windows-7 users any more. Until you get Windows-10 solid, we won't upgrade. We have much better things to do than constantly having to "fix" WIndows-10 because of a rogue update. True the last two or many three months have been smooth; but, you'll need a much longer track record of smooth updates for us to consider Windows-10 a worthy upgrade to Windows-7.3 points -

Microsoft will start giving Windows 7 users full-screen upgrade prompts for Windows 10
Ryster and one other reacted to UseLess for a topic
If these users got this far and are happy with their old PC and out of date Windows 7 then I think what is happening will be very annoying for them. But in the end those users have pretty much two options... upgrade to Windows 10, which can still be done for free using the official Media Creation Tool, or... switch to Linux. depending on what the person does, Linux might be a better option, like if they just primarily use it for internet machine and maybe a little bit beyond this, I would suggest Linux over Windows as for the average person they are likely all around safer online with Linux than Windows since many threats are Windows specific. There should be a third option where get to keep on doing what you have always done because you accept or ignore the risks. The vast majority of people won't understand the risks, so no. that's not an option. I get enough bloody spam and other crap coming over the internet, i don't want more damn zombie bots out there adding to it. So no. You're wrong.2 points -

We’re looking into reports of the update process hanging for extended periods of time when attempting to install a new build Yah! Recent builds have spent huge amounts of time stuck on certain percentages and overall have taken insanely longer than older builds. I started installing at 4:34(according to event viewer), first reboot at 6, and just finished at 6:22.2 points -

With as many problems that 10 has had, in the last year alone, it's a small wonder why any Windows 7 user is hesitant in upgrading to 10. Even though " End of Support" is less than a month away, Microsoft hasn't really given me a good enough reason to upgrade to an OS that is constantly breaking itself! When Microsoft can create a REAL successor to Windows 7, THEN I'll consider upgrading.2 points -

One can still upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free using the official upgrade tool (i.e. Media Creation Tool, which can be downloaded here... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 ). no CD key required. once the upgrade completes and auto-activates, you can simply wipe the computer and install Windows 10 clean and it will automatically activate once online. Or just use the windows 7 key during the installation of a clean install. It will install and activate just fine.2 points -

As much as people want to complain about this sort of thing I say good on Microsoft for being diligent. Techies that know what they're doing and don't care are one thing, but the average user should be made aware in whatever way possible that their system is going out of support. At this point standard users really should upgrade or buy new equipment to stay secure and running smoothly if their machine is connected to the internet.2 points -

Epic trying to act all high and mighty but they're just coming out as a bunch of douches that want all the revenue for themselves. Any notification LED on this anywhere? Otherwise buyer beware! And it's IPS LCD which is OK but without a notification LED, is not OK. i am starting to think that new midrange is the replacement of flagship i bought Motorola One Vision as a gift, and i liked it as much as i like my Galaxy s9 plus even more, possibly. the midrange specs are good enough for all your daily apps, seriously. and the 330 canadian dollar price was extremely attractive considering the crazy prices Galaxy S line costs. i think my next phone is going to be mid range. really no reason to shell out $1000+ for a phone, that i usually put in power saving mode anyway, meaning it slowed down and low res version i am actually using mostly.1 point -

Apple bet on the wrong supplier with this system. They should have gone with an AMD EPYC or Threadripper configuration. It would run circles around this Intel based unit and probably at a much lower price too. A PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD system alone would have blown anything PCIe 3.0 away.1 point -

Yeah, I have no idea where people got it in their heads that devs/publishers need more money, while they in turn get less features and functionality. If anything, I find it hilarious that they'll complain about Google's platform while trying to pull in timed-exclusives just to grow their own store which is just a software form of scaffolding by comparison. Hell, go search "Control" on EGS and laugh at how the damn client can't even find the game... How was this meant for gamers again? Tim Sweeney is where they get the idea from.1 point -

I don't care if Epic Games distributes their game outside of the Play store. What bugs me about the deal is that they don't treat Apple the same way. Apple doesn't allow anything to be installed outside of their store, so Epic Games is basically taking advantage of Android while rewarding Apple for their bad practices.1 point -
