  1. wish this would be pushed for in the US as well. phone locking really is such an underhanded process only meant to make carrier switching more painful to dissuade users from doing so ...

If it ever drops to 99 bucks for a new model, I am definitely picking one up, just to stream my PC to the living room, and to play some Warframe.

  10. And I am still on Windows 7 / Linux Mint as Microsoft failed to convince me to move to Windows 10. I do have one Intel NUC machine running Windows 10 and acting as Plex Media Server. Should switch it to Linux but I guess I am lazy.

The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology."

Battery is built in, unless I wanna unscrew 10 screws, undue clips to get to it, and not even sure it would boot with battery disconnected. I think will be fine, just was wondering to make sure on the matter, but I feel more relaxed now---Thank you all for the replies

  18. Great, it's nice to see they're doing this and still not fixing file:// URL support. This is a must for a lot of Intranet sites including many Sharepoint ones. If they want it to replace IE, surely they should look at this, I've raised it as feedback time and time again. It's a misconception that these only work on IE because they work on EdgeHTML too.

  19. Right. I really wasn't intending to go deep into what changed, but rather background for why they changed, and what's happening moving forward. Because as I wrote in the article, the major build number in 10 and 10X will be different for 20H2. Following that, they'll be the same, as all Windows 10 versions always have been.

  26. Agree, locking shouldn't be a thing. It's your phone, you bought it, if the carrier's deals are good, that alone should be enough to dissuade people from leaving.

  27. Ofcom proposes plans to ban the selling of carrier-locked phones

that was just their excuse to lock down phones. nothing says not being able to lock phones would stop subsidizing. If they're to continue the locking practice during contract lock-in then there should be an auto script that gets sent to unlock the phone when the contract ends instead of the owner having to manually request an unlock. That would be fair in my opinion as well but no they'd rather the user not realize that the phone can be unlocked or not want to deal with the hassle of the process so they stay with them.

  28. No... But I do remember Windows Media Player 9 Series and the 2007 Office System! RIP Windows Media Player. It honestly wasn't bad for its time, but MS was so set on their "we provide the technology, others will provide the service." Apple ended up leaving them in the dust because all the WMP companies you could buy music from where awful.

  36. I'm outta here

A woman, cranky because her husband was late coming home again, decided to leave a note, saying, "I've had enough and have left you...don't bother coming after me" Then she hid under the bed to see his reaction. After a short while, the husband comes home and she could hear him in the kitchen before he comes into the bedroom. She could see him walk towards the dresser and pick up the note. After a few minutes, he wrote something on it before picking up the phone and calling someone. "She's finally gone...yeah I know, about time, I'm coming to see you, put on that …… French nightie. I love you...can't wait to see you...we'll do all the naughty things you like." He hung up, grabbed his keys and left. She heard the car drive off as she came out from under the bed, seething with rage and with tears in her eyes. She grabbed the note to see what he wrote.

  37. me too, but let's thank people, press and devs that bashed on it for no reasons It did not do very well because it came too late, had no apps and had a awful UI with the tiles and like windows 10 the UI was inconsistent. I wiosh it was still going, just to to give Android and IOS a bit of competition. I would not have got one, I borrowed one and I could not get on with it, saying that I don't like Iphones either. I loved the UI, but that's subjective What's objective that was ahead of ios and android on many things, competition is good, but devs didn't want to bring the apps to it

  41. Ghostbusters (2020)

Some of them are directly related to Egon, which is a nice way to still have him play a part even thought he's not around anymore. So yeah, this is pretty much a direct sequel with a future handoff to new characters. We'll see how it goes because they're pretty young, and yeah, those proton packs aren't suppose to be light, no way kids can do it. Who knows how they'll pull it off though?

  45. No Time To Die. (Bond 25, April 2021).

The one thing the Craig series, as I'll call it, has that the others don't is that each movie ties into each other way more than any of the past Bond series films did. These are more direct sequels going all the way back to Casino Royale.

Also few updates on my side, got a new RTX 2080 and an ultra-wide screen from LG 34GK950F It's quite the change playing in Ultrawide. BTW, no space or heat issues in this case with the RTX 2080, which was my main concern.

  47. Detroit Lions

A coach for the Detroit Lions was looking for the perfect quarterback he had scouted all the colleges and even the Canadian and European Leagues, but he couldn’t find a quarterback who could ensure a Super Bowl win. Then one night while watching CNN he saw a war-zone scene in Syria. In one corner of the background, he spotted a young Syrian Muslim soldier with a truly incredible arm. He threw a hand-grenade straight into a 15th story window 100 yards away. KABOOM! He threw another hand-grenade 75 yards away, right into a chimney. KA-BLOOEY! Then he threw another at a passing car going 90 mph. BULLS-EYE! “I’ve got to get this guy!” The coach said to himself. “He has the perfect arm!” So, he brings him to the States and teaches him the great game of football. And the Lions go on to win the Super Bowl. The young Syrian is hailed as the great hero of football, and when the coach asks him what he wants, all the young man wants is to call his mother. “Mom,” he says into the phone, “I just won the Super Bowl!” “I don’t want to talk to you,” the old Muslim woman says. “You deserted us. You are not my son!” “I don’t think you understand, Mother,” the young man pleads. “I’ve won the greatest sporting event in the world. I’m here among thousands of my adoring fans.” “No! Let me tell you!” his mother retorts. “At this very moment, there are gunshots all around us. The neighborhood is a pile of rubble. Your two brothers were beaten within an inch of their lives last week, and I have to keep your sister in the house so she doesn’t get raped!”

  48. Dona Sarkar is stepping away from the Windows Insider Program

I think Aul did the best job, I know I said in the past I didn't think Sarkar was doing that great of a job and got backlash for it... it just felt like with her it was more about her then the product. Even how they introduced her it was here's all these things she does including her fashion and design lines, but not as much about how she was going to make the program better.
