  1. It's a threat, sorry, for whom? For Americans who try to "project their political will" on every square centimeter of the Earth land? Or for China or India?

  2. It's not about hiding the information, it's about making national infrastructure secure to American "sanctions" that could suddenly block access to root DNSes or stop routing IP packets to/from Russian IP addresses etc. US administration imposed over 60 sanctions on different sectors of Russian economy and politics over the last 5 years so pretending building national telecom infrastructure is not justified is just silly.

  3. bat creation to download and replace files

PatchMyPc work for TeamviewerQS? Or just Full? I am working on a solution for him now. Posting back here when done. Ok create a batch file, with the following contents. Name it TVUpdate.bat or similar and save it to the desktop. @ECHO OFF del %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\TeamViewerQS.exe /Q c:\windows\wget.exe https://download.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewerQS_en.exe --no-check-certificate copy c:\windows\TeamViewerQS.exe %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP Then download wget and it's dependencies WGet - http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin32/wget-1.11.4-1-bin.zip Depends - http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin32/wget-1.11.4-1-dep.zip Extract them, and copy the wget.exe and .dll files from both sub folders "binary" folders to somewhere like c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 Once you do that you will need to modify the code paths above to point to the path that you placed it in, change c:\windows\wget.exe to maybe c:\windows\system32\wget.exe - or wherever you put it. Then run the batch file to test it. If you don't want to grab all the files manually and make the batch file, here is a link with everything all put together - https://www.dropbox.com/s/n6go1st8blxwjtk/ts-qs-updater.zip?dl=1 Put the batch file on the desktop, and the .exe/dll files in c:\windows

  5. Funny thing is, the russian federation is the biggest threat there and the threat is only getting more control over people and the things they claim to protect. Also, the iron curtain has been coming down for some time again, this is just one part of it. Sneaky sneaky, doing it with small increments so people wouldn't notice it and would get used to just another restriction.

  10. One of the most depressing future worlds is going to see the Internet fracture as Russia, China, etc wall themselves off, and we go back to more a more factional world that isn't connected socially, economically, or politically. RIP literal 90s optimism.

  12. It's just like in the past when people couldn't read. So instead of teaching them to be able to they just read the Bible to them. That was called what again? Dark Age isn't it? That time when there was NO progress.

  13. I never understand this obsession with governments and powerful people keeping the overall public in the dark with information. Don't they realize that all they are doing is keeping those countries poor? It's been proven time and time again throughout history that the more open a society is, the more successful they are, you only have to look at the world from rich to poor countries to see that today.

  14. Microsoft has some exciting Xbox and Surface hardware coming in 2020

They are dead on arrival. They'll probably sell a few during the launch hype, then they will be on the scrap heap. You'd be a fool to become an early adopter. Some people never learn though and keep wasting money on Microsoft mobile tech. I'm unsure what Microsoft can do with the Surface laptop line-up. The latest releases were massively disappointing and the 15" Surface Book was an under-powered piece of very expensive junk. The Surface Pro X design is what the Surface Pro 7 should have been. Instead Microsoft saved their best for the worst possible internals. Microsoft need to step it up in 2020.
