  1. All their doing is telling consumers that epic has a good game for free today. Chill

  2. Hello, Hacking seventeen million accounts to investigate a security vulnerability seems a little, uhm, excessive. After doing a couple of hundred, the security "researcher" should have had enough data to report this to Twitter's security department. I wonder why they kept up at it until they were caught? 3. Never was going to be a fan of the way they've run development since kickstarter, but if it is a good game when they finally release it I'll be interested. Don't really care about a visual teaser trailer, though. A single player game isn't based on that at all.

  5. Happy Holidays from Neowin!

Dear all, Another year is coming to an end. I just wanted to say on behalf of everyone here at Neowin that we wish you all the best during these holidays, and we hope you eat and drink too much (well, in moderation ) and have a wonderful time with friends, family, or whatever you like to do during this time. For myself, I have flown back to see the family for a few days. It's nice to have a holiday for once during this time! How are you spending, or how have you spent your time?

  6. Russia completes successful test of national internet alternative

It's one thing to try and protect national security but I always find it funny how the excuse is always to limit information that the public can get. If it really was just about national security, there are many things the governments can do to protect it's self just like many other governments are doing. We both know this has nothing to do with national security and everything to do with the control of information that Russians see and by controlling what they see, you control the people which also helps to keep the ones in power at the top but it also has a negative impact on economic growth which is what hurts the overall public. At the end of the day, you might not like the west, but they are so successful for being very open, history has proven going all the way back to the Romans that open societies are more successful than closed ones. So the irony being is that all Russia and China are doing is hurting their potential growth which I suspect the likes of the US loves.

  7. Happy Holidays from Neowin!

In a way I consider this community my online family. We may have our disagreements, squabbles and whatnot but I wouldn't change things. I just wanted to spread the holiday cheer to everyone. 🥳

  9. To whom is the Russian Federation the biggest threat? To their own people.
    2 points
  10. Funny thing is, the russian federation is the biggest threat there and the threat is only getting more control over people and the things they claim to protect. Also, the iron curtain has been coming down for some time again, this is just one part of it. Sneaky sneaky, doing it with small increments so people wouldn't notice it and would get used to just another restriction.

  14. Not only they hired talented writers Like who? Just do a Google search, quite a lot of actors involved, many well known actors. I asked him about the WRITERS, not the actors. Actors will work for anyone who pays them. I want to know about the STORY. Who gives a shite about the actors if they're reading Wing Commander grade crap dialogue in a boring story?

  16. If the goal was to show off graphics, then why not upload the video in 4K? Honestly, I wasn't super impressed, it isn't bad looking, but I would say graphics seem about on par with AAA games from several years ago. If you look closer at the actual graphic assets, they are bit blurry with unimpressive detail. The overall scenes do look nice. As a matter of point, I am a little tired of cinematics like this being used to show off game graphics. Yes, I am sure they used the game engine to create those, which 10 years ago was excuse enough to say it was in-game graphics. If you watch again, the most impressive parts of the video is the camera work or chirography of the assets; both of which I guaranty was done completely manually, not actual game play footage.

I’m trying to act like I didn’t eat twice my body weight in turkey and stuffing. By the smell leaking from my butt, I don’t think it’s all that successful.

  20. It looks good but then again the original clip over 7 years ago. If they do intend releasing this is under a year I would have expected more than a teaser; some character dialogue, plot elements, etc

  21. The game itself SC has been in alpha since 2012 as JoeBlobler mentioned. SQ42 has not had any alpha tests yet. Those will start in early 2020.

  22. You can get a package with a ship plus SQ42 for when it releases + beta build tests for only $65 bucks. Not a bad deal considering how nice the game is now in 3.8.

  25. Russia completes successful test of national internet alternative

Lol? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...xpenditures_2018_SIPRI.png" rel="external nofollow">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...Expenditures_2018_SIPRI.png That chart doesn't mean jack. So the US spends the most money on their military. Oh no look out! Large chunks of that is in hundreds of R&D programs that others, you know, like China and Russia, try to steal and ultimately reverse engineer to try to keep up. And then large parts of that are also inflated overspending because they can and congress isn't bothering to curb.

  26. ASUS is sending the ROG Phone II to the development community

You can get the latest version of Android and along with it the latest security updates. Custom ROMS offer a cleaner/de-bloated, more customizable version of Android too. The kind of customization that they offer, I am yet to see in a stock ROM.

  31. Save 93% off a lifetime subscription to Disconnect VPN Premium

I'd add that these "lifetime" subscriptions are marketing BS. It certainly won't be for your lifetime, unless you're going to die quite soon. It's for the "lifetime" of the product. That'll be a year or two at most, if you're lucky.

  32. Save 93% off a lifetime subscription to Disconnect VPN Premium

Don't fall for it. I did a couple of years ago: I can only connect my android phone, neither my desktop nor my laptop can connect to it. It endlessly says "Connecting..." and nothing happens.
